Family and Systemic Psychotherapy

Family life can be complicated. When I use the word family, I do not necessarily mean blood relatives but people who play an important role in your life. One of my areas of my expertise is working with whole families and supporting them to process collective trauma or work through challenging dynamics. This can be an emotive process as families often go through very long times without addressing those challenges. In my experience transition points can contribute to challenges, or amplify existing difficulties. I always have a flexible approach about who attends and it’s likely that over the course of our work we have sessions with different combinations of family members.
